Teething
For the past few weeks, my daughter has been getting fevers coming and going. We blamed it solely on the drastic temperature change, going down to the 40's. But that is not the case... we have realized that she is teething. She definitely has all of the signs. There are a few ways to tell if your little one is teething:
1. Mild fever (less than 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit)
2. Flushed cheeks
3. Loss of appetite
4. Drooling... lots of drooling
5. Biting
6. Rubbing cheeks and/or ears
7. Fussiness/less sleep
It's been a rough few weeks. I can't wait till she gets all her teeth out and we get back to a normal sleep schedule. But I also can't wait till she's isn't feeling any pain because poor baby must be having it rough. These are a few tips we can do to help relieve the discomfort.
1. Freeze a freezable teething ring or pacifier and have your little one bite/suck on it.
2. Massage gums
3. Infant Tylenol (if approved by pediatrician)
4. Lastly, cuddle and comfort.
Oh gosh, I did not know that this happened to babies when they are teething. I literally just thought that teething meant they were just growing their teeth. To see all of the symptoms and signs of teething actually opens my eyes and shows me just how difficult raising a child can be. I honestly have to commend you for working so hard to provide for your family and for yourself! Keep doing what you do! Though I don't have a child of my own and don't plan to have one anytime soon, I'm glad that you gave us advice on how to get through this phase in their life.
