No More Swaddle

It's been a fun ride with swaddles. They were definitely life savers for the past six months. But Sky no longer seems to need them anymore. Last night, I decided to put her to bed without a swaddle and she slept perfectly fine, which I'm so grateful for! I was a bit scared at first, but she took it like a champ and slept through the night. So proud of her! These were the swaddles we used throughout her newborn phase up until now.

1. Muslin Swaddle

This was our first type of swaddle. You get a similar type of swaddle to use in the hospital when you first give birth (I wasn't able to take mine home. Not sure if it's the same at other hospitals). I think this is good in the newborn stage, like the first couple of weeks when your newborn is still small and fragile. I say this because they still don't move as much so the wrap won't come undone easily. Although it does it's job perfectly well, I do highly recommend the next swaddle once they become more movable.

2. Halo Swaddle

This is a major life saver! The first night we used this, Sky slept an extra two hours at night. That was huge for us at that time because she was only sleeping two hours at a time, even at night. We fell in love with it! We loved it so much that we were so scared to stop using it. But of course, there comes that time when they start to roll over and so swaddling is a huge no-no. So here comes the next type of swaddle.

3. Transition Swaddle

Transition swaddle is different from the other two because this is meant to have more room or flexibility in the arms so the infant is able to roll back to their back in case they do roll over to their tummies. There is no particular transition swaddle that works. There are many. The photo above is the one I used and it worked perfectly fine for Sky. There are mothers who have sworn by other types of transition swaddles. It all depends on your little one.
