Visiting Home! (Preparing to Travel)
I'm finally going back to Hawai'i after a long year of not visiting. I'm so excited!!! We leave this Wednesday. As much as I'm excited to see everyone, I'm dreading the flight a little extra this time around because it's the first time we're flying with our baby girl. We've done a little bit of research and I've been nonstop asking my friends who have flown with their children, for some advice. Here some things we've purchased and are preparing to have on hand for the flight itself.
I've read that majority of the flight will consist of trying to entertain your child. Which makes sense because if they're entertained and enjoying it, they won't have time to cry and fuss around. We're bringing a lot of her little toys and teething rings so that she can play with them. We also bought a new toy that we will introduce to her on the flight, that way when she gets bored with her old toys, this new toy will enlighten her playfulness again.
This is a given. Your baby is gonna get hungry so we're making sure we are loaded with formula, water, and solids. For my daughter, drinking her milk calms her down. Even if we're not likely to feed her solids on the plane, it's reassuring that it's at least available to have just in case we need it.
1. Toys, Toys, Toys, and maybe an Extra Toy.
